The Colour Out of Space

Outside the town of Arkham, there is a place that locals call “the blasted heath”. But when the narrator asks questions about this strange area to the townspeople, they refuse to answer. Only Ammi Pierce, a man who’s said to be mad, agrees to tell the story of the Gardner family who lived there, years ago. Apparently, a meteorite has fallen on their land and contaminated the crops, the insects, the animals, the water, and eventually, the Gardners. A strange colorless force ruined their farm and broke their spirit. This short story is a slow descent into the realm of terror, as tension increases and the rural tale comes to life before our eyes.
